Bauer

The ingenious Eugen Bauer constructed his first silent film projector in the year of 1907. The year 1928 opened a decisive chapter in movie history: The sound film. Until this turning point movies were accompanied by live piano music. With the upcoming of the sound film, movies were accompanied by records. It was Bauer who invented a device which made it possible to synchronize film and record. The next step was the development of film material with a sound track on it. Bauer was becoming the market leader in this field. As of 1932 the Robert Bosch AG gradually started buying the Bauer company. The beginning of the fifties marks the cooperation with the Klangfilm sound devices which were produced by Siemens. Hundreds of cinemas were equipped with Bauer-Klangfilm products and a worldwide distribution net was established.

発明の才のあるオイゲン・バウアーが彼の最初の無声映画プロジェクターを組み立てたのは、1907年のことでした。1928年に映画史上、画期的な第１章が始まりました。サウンド・フィルム（発声映画）です。このターニング・ポイントに至るまでは、映画はライヴのピアノ音楽によって伴奏されていました。サウンド・フィルムの登場で、映像はレコードの伴奏を伴うことになりました。フィルムとレコードをシンクロさせることを可能にする装置を発明したのが、バウアーその人に他なりません。次のステップは、サウンド・トラックを持つフィルム素材の開発でした。バウアーはこの分野でのマーケット・リーダーに成りつつありました。1932年の時点で、ローベルト・ボッシュＡＧが徐々にバウアー・カンパニーを買収し始めました。50年代の初頭には、ジーメンスによって生産されたクラング・フィルムの音響装置との組み合わせが目を引きます。何百ものシネマ館がバウアー=クラングフィルム製品を備え付け、世界的な供給ネットワークが確立されました。
