Project with Altec 806A, Isophon woofer and Stereo Lab horn
A horn project for a change. 30 cm Isophon woofers in combination with Altec 806A drivers on 400Hz Tractrix horns made by Stereo Lab (http://www.stereo-lab.de/ or see our linklist). The horns are excellent!
Dynamics are stunning yet the sound character is pleasant and smooth. The cross over still needs optimizing but is slowly coming along. The Fostex super tweeters might turn out to be redundant in the end; this is still the play-around-phase. Of course the cabinetts have no back panel - nothing comes close to open baffle, especially for the woofers!
