Dynacord SUS 15 - pictures supplied by Mark

Mark from Massachusetts/USA sent us these pictures of his 1950s Dynacord home audio loudspeaker. What a nice looking speaker this is!

And this is what Mark wrote to us:

"From what I can tell, (my German is rusty) this was Dynacord's first offering as a 'Hi-Fi' speaker from 1959. It contains 3 beautiful (looking and sounding) full range Elbrau Alnico drivers.

So some limited history on my Dynacord . . . . I found it at the Kutztown PA Radio Swap Meet 2 years ago. This is one of the largest Antique Radio 'Flea Markets' in the USA . . happens twice a year. The man who I bought from found it in New Jersey, but no other information was available. Apparently there was a small 15 watt tube amplifier in the base originally . .. probably a P/P EL84 amp . . .

The finish isn't perfect, but the wood is BEAUTIFUL. Also, the sound MORE than makes up for the issues with the finish....I use this speaker for a little mono system, running off either a Scott Type 209 (PP EL34) or Pilot AA-903 (PP 6V6). It is a tad light on the high frequencies, so I use a Isophon DP-19 paper cone tweeter crossed over with a vintage oil cap around 10K Hz."

Great pics! Thank you very much, Mark!
