A short note on the history of Zeiss Ikon after 1945:
In the last year of WWII, 1945, the factories in Dresden and Berlin were partly destroyed or dismantled. In 1948 the East German part of the company was expropriated and reinstalled as a state owned company in Dresden under the name of VEB Mechanik Zeiss Ikon (as of 1953) and later VEB Zeiss Ikon (as of 1955).
Meanwhile the West German part moved its headquarters to Stuttgart (see paper tag for the name of Stuttgart!) and became the Zeiss Ikon AG.
The speaker producing plant of the company Zeiss Ikon AG was located in the northern German town of Kiel (again, see paper tag!) and installed in 1950.
