40 cm Maruo driver - more pictures supplied by Yuji Suzuki

Thanks to Mr. Yuji Suzuki we can now show some more pictures of the work of Rokurou Maruo. On the photos you see Maruos' 40 cm driver. The properties are the same as the ones from his 16 and 20 cm drivers:

1.The cones are made of Katagami
2.The surround is made of leather
3.The butterfly damper is made of the same Katagami paper as the cone itself
In addition to the above features this driver has two voice coils, each of which has an impedance of 8 Ohms. So the user can select 3 impedances (4, 8, 16 Ohms).

At the time Suzuki-San bought the 40 cm driver, Maruo-San gave him a little present to show his thankfulness: a little stand for a soldering rod, which Maruo-San had made himself. Back then Suzuki-San's wife laughed at the little thing (and so did Suzuki-San „in his heart“). But by now he savours it highly as a precious memory of a great man!

Suzuki-San has recently spoken to the successor to Mr. Maruo. His name is Yuichi Sato, he lives in Niigata pre. He used to be a trainee of Maruo's laboratory and started making 12 cm drivers a few years ago. Suzuki-San and Sato-San will meet soon and if we are lucky we will get some more pictures from this meeting?
