Siemens 15p 24,5 cm full range driver

This particular model 15p is an 8 Ohm version. Usually it is 15 Ohms. Siemens has used magnesium cast frames for many of their drivers (15p, 15m, 14g, 25a, 24p etc.) as of 1950/51. Magnesium is an ideal material for driver frames: it is stiff and light. But it is highly reactive. As a result you will find most of these frames have oxidised over the years to a greater or lesser extent. The frame you see in these pictures is covered with magnesium oxide, a whitish sort of powder. Of course, this does not affect the performance of the speaker at all.
