Saba Loudspeaker with coaxial unit and fullrange driver/woofer

This development uses two Saba drivers per channel, the 26 cm coaxial unit 1074 U 15 in combination with the 26 cm full range driver 5248 U 35. Size of the cabinetts is 105 x 55 x 32 cm, the wood is 10 mm light weight plywood which I veneered with oak. The back of the speakers is more or less open. Damping is reduced to a minimum. I have hardly ever heard better speakers for reproducing vocal chamber music; I have definitely never heard better speaker for the reproduction of the harpsichord.
Using such thin plywood as cabinett material may seem strange to some of you, but for certain speakers it is the best solution.

この開発プロジェクトは、方チャンネル２個のSabaドライヴァーを使用しています。26 cmのフルレンジ・ドライヴァー5248 U 35と組み合わされた26 cm コアキシャル・ユニット1074 U 15です。キャビネット・サイズは105 x 55 x 32 cmで、板は10 mm軽量合板で、オーク材で付き板をしました。キャビネットの背面は、多かれ少なかれ、開放されています。ダンピングは最小にまで押さえられています。ボーカル・室内楽曲の再生に関して、これより優れているスピーカーはほとんど聞いたことがありません。ハープシコードの再生については、はっきりと無いと言えます。
このような薄い合板を使うことが、奇妙に思われる方がおられるかも知れません。しかし、ある種のスピーカーにとっては、これがベスト・ソリューションなのです。
